Reducing Moisture in NNUH Critical Care

Reducing Moisture in NNUH Critical Care featured image

The Critical Care unit at NNUH had been using procedure pads under patients to manage incontinence.

These pads were referred to as "inco pads" but are not designed for this purpose.

They hold 10-20 mls of fluid and can potentially be doing harm to our patients by causing Moisture associated skin damage MASD.

A 4-week trial was run with Medline's Ultrasorb incontinence pad, moisture lesion rates improved and practice changed.
