Inspired by a Specialist Practice Nurse who talked about her teams GoB file (Glimpses of Brilliances), the Trust have established and are endorsing the Moment of Brilliance (M.o.B) to capture positive areas of practice across the organisation.We recognise that we don’t always really reflect and celebrate the acknowledgements of great work and appreciation being done every day, however this is a great way to spur on teams to succeed and deliver the highest possible standards. Team MoBs collate team and individuals’ experiences and positive feedback – compliments, thank you cards, notes or even verbal messages from patients, service users and staff.
The Trust have had Team MoBs popping up across the organisation from MoB Walls, Pillars and windows, skeletons and mugs, and Newsletters, Boards to Awards and the creative side of teams has certainly shone through.
In June 2015 Staffordshire & Stoke on Trent Partnership Trust launched the ‘Moment of Brilliance’ Club; The aim of the Club is to capture positive areas of practice across the organisation; identifying success stories which are having an impact on staff, patients and service users which will be promoted to staff and stakeholders in a publication. It will also act as method to bring staff together to access corporate support that is available which will empower them to drive a culture of raising excellence across their teams. The MoB Club For those Teams who wish to celebrate their MoB across the Trust, we have a MoB Club which will be open for all to attend.
The purpose of the Club is to:
• capture positive practice
• identify success stories which are having an impact on staff, patients and service users
Colleagues from communications, organisational development and service improvement will make sure MoBs are captured and celebrated across the whole Trust and each month The Word, newsletter will feature a ‘MoB of the month’.
Each year we will consolidate the Moments of Brilliance which have been gathered and publish them in a Book of Brilliance for our external stakeholders and staff which will celebrate the day to day business which we provide to patients and users of our services.
We need to learn from negative feedback and issues – however we must not be defined by them, and need to remind ourselves of the all the Moments of Brilliance that happen every day across clinical, professional, corporate and support services.
