Jules Lock is a lead End of Life Care Volunteer at SaTH and this week her pledge will be actioned as together Jules Lock and I (Jules Lewis) will train 9 EOLC Volunteers and launch the EOLC Volunteer Service at SaTH during fab change week.

We have been working on this project for months after visiting Aintree Hospital where they have this service well established.

Thank you to Aintree for showing us what good looks like, on Tuesday 7th November we hope to do it even better.

The volunteers will attend a 2 day training programme with ongoing support.

The main purpose of the role is to sit with end of life patients who have no family or those that have family & need a break.

We will also be launching EOLC Relative vouchers for relatives to have a hot drink and cake a small gift from the swan fund, thank you to our wonderful catering department for helping us make this happen, the little things are the big things at the hardest of times.

We hope this service will make a real difference to EOLC as we have one chance to get it right. We are very proud to lead on this work.

Thank you for reading. Jules Lock Lead EOLC Volunteer & Jules Lewis EOLC Facilitator Lead Nurse at SaTH Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital
