A team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been shortlisted for a national award for the development of a high impact, innovative digital resource in partnership with Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
The STEP team has been shortlisted for the Digital Award for Information Literacy 2019 by LILAC: The Librarian’s Information Literacy Annual Conference. This conference is an opportunity to celebrate achievements and share best practice within the field of information literacy. Information literacy is all about knowing when and why you need information, where to find it, and how to evaluate and use it in an ethical manner; and is a key component of evidence-based practice in healthcare.
The team has been shortlisted for their service transformation eLearning project (STEP), which has involved the creation of numerous digital eLearning modules for staff. The modules are designed to help the healthcare workforce to build their confidence in searching published literature for articles and evidence relevant to their work, study and research and have been very well received.
The team includes Tracey Pratchett, Mandy Davis and Wayne Troake from Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, Sarah Lewis and Tracey Geddis from Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, and Michelle Maden, Independent Information Consultant.
