As a result of COVID-19, there was significant pressure on placements within UHSFT due to the displacement of staff and changes to the patient workload.
Over 150 paid placement nursing students were placed at UHS and it was considered that for some areas students would get improved Practice Assessor (PA) contact if the PA was external to the wards.
The learning has been about how to adapt and trial a new model for practice assessors
