Dr Emma Baird, Anaesthetics Consultant at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, has been appointed into the role of Acute Pain Representative for the Faculty of Pain Medicine at the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
The Royal College of Anaesthetists is the professional body responsible for anaesthetics throughout the UK. It aims to ensure a high quality of care for patients through standards in the fields of anaesthesia, critical care and pain medicine.
Emma said: “I am enthusiastic and passionate about improving in-patient pain services both within my own organisation and nationally. I believe the only way that I can achieve these goals is by working collaboratively with my colleagues around the UK with strong leadership and guidance from the Faculty of Pain Medicine/Royal College of Anaesthetists.”
