#ImprovementWeek at Imperial College Healthcare Trust

The week opened bright and early at 07.15 on 13 October, where we launched improvement week across our sites by talking to patients and staff about how we make our care safer, improve the way our hospitals and services are run and make this a great place to work.

During Improvement week, we have been holding ‘market place’ events across the five sites of Imperial to champion quality improvement projects which have been initiated by staff. QI posters featured in the poster competition were displayed at the market place and there were many opportunities to talk to a range of colleagues, including to the QI hub about ideas and booking onto QI education sessions.

The patients and staff who popped by, were greeted with some home baking and lively discussion. Highlights included gingerbread biscuits from Liz Staveacre and Adam Smith’s chocolate brownies which had gone through rigorous testing using at least one ‘ plan, do, study, act’ (PDSA) cycle.

Improvement Week will end on the 19th October, for Fab NHS Change Day!

The Quality Improvement team have been asking staff to pledge their ideas for change throughout the week.
