Getting family carers on the internet – Since 2008 we have provided free laptops, PC’s or tablets to family carers who are isolated at home because of their caring role and cannot afford to pay.

More about Getting family carers on the internet

Since 2002 we have provided a safe place for family carers on the internet to find help and peer support.

In 2008 Wendy Maxwell began to realize the advantage that the internet made to carers and how some could not afford to buy equipment.  She also heard that equipment was being sent to dumps to be disposed of. She asked for recycled equipment from big companies and got hundreds of carers on line. We all volunteers, carers or past carers and give our time to support other carers.

We do a free daily newspaper for family carers over the internet and we was the first website to do  hosted chats with MP’s. We have an arcade and a 24 hour chatroom and forum. Our forum has been a lifeline for many.  Our members tell us they could not continue if we was to close. This month we are delighted that we have become a registered charity, but the only regular income we receive is a £300 yearly grant from Norfolk County Council.
