Dementia Awareness Podcasts

To mark Dementia Awareness Week in May 2015, a number of organisations including UCL Partners, London Dementia Strategic Clinical Network and the National Skills Academy for Health got together to produce podcasts on different topics related to dementia, these podcasts are aimed at health and social care professionals as well as people who have an interest in dementia.

The topics of each podcast are:

1. Dementia Awareness presented by Dr Sophie Edwards, Consultant Geriatrician and Dementia Lead, North Middlesex University Hospital

2. Advance care Planning (It’s Dying Matters Week too!) presented by Dr Caroline Stirling, End of Life Care Lead at UCLPartners and Dr Juliette Brown, Darzi Fellow and Fellow in Quality Improvement UCLPartners and East London Foundation Trust -

3. Dementia Friendly Hospitals presented by Jo James, Lead Nurse for Dementia at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Emma Ouldred, Dementia Nurse Specialist at Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

4. Working with Care Homes presented by Dr Johanna Barlow, Clinical Leadership Fellow and GP registrar at North East London Foundation Trust and Laurence Cowderoy, Darzi Fellow at Health Innovation Network

5. Life After Diagnosis presented by Julian Lloyd, Regional Operations Manager London at the Alzheimer’s Society, Chief Product Officer at Oomph and Tony Jameson-Allen Director at Sporting Memories Network
