CARIN for families is part of the Nottingham Children’s Hospital but is located at Curie Court, QMC. It is a team made up of family support workers, children’s nurses and administrators. The service was hard to find for visitors. It felt separate to the Children’s Hospital and was not very inviting for children.Impact
The team didn’t feel like part of the children’s hospital. Patient’s struggled to find the building and it was not inviting for children, affecting the patient experience.
Idea
Install clear, colourful signage identifying CARIN 4 Families to help visitors find us and make better use of space for staff. Children’s community staff participated in the sign making, designing and painting bright, colourful and cheery signs.Benefits
Patients are able to find the building more easily and are greeted with an inviting environment. The service feels part of the Children’s Hospital as the colourful designs include the logo.
