It became apparent that we were missing opportunities to promote our service due to last minute notice or not able to attend. We decided that we needed a concept of "pop up careers in a box" this would ensure that we had a central resource box where if a careers event was booked anyone could take the information and ensure accurate corporate messages were shared.
The last careers event we attended we realised we needed to expand on our branding and have a themes running through our resources and have eye catching pull up poster again show casing what we offer at LCHS.
Due to the careers events being so busy we were only getting a 5 minute slot to talk to perspective students and we felt this was not enough time to explain the pathway to becoming a school nurse or health visitor and also to share experiences of what it was like to have these jobs and opportunities.
We decided a "Passport" for school nurses and health visitors sharing about university processors with a brief overview of the courses and experience needed, also an overview of LCHS, Map showing the rurality and the large area we cover, essential information such as consolidation as a nurse for 2 years. School nurse/ health visitor student journey to be incorporated so it is more personal.
Hoping to expand of the careers events by adapting the “pop up careers event in a box” concept and transport this to shows, careers events, supermarkets, school assembly’s, children’s centres to raise the profile of what health visitors and school nurses so.
Rolling programme on a TV while we were at events was also produced as this gives a story board effect sharing that if you come and join LCHS The are no limits to what you can do!”
