I have worked in the NHS since 1991, my career started at the Sister Dora College of Nursing Walsall where I trained and worked as a Registered General Nurse. In 1996 I joined West Midlands Ambulance Service and became a Paramedic. From 2000 onwards I practiced as an Emergency Care Practitioner and Emergency Nurse Practitioner working in both the pre hospital ambulance arena and Emergency Department setting. I was extremely fortunate in 2011 to secure a fixed term contract as a Service Improvement Manager with Staffordshire and Shropshire Heart and Stroke Network where I was mentored by an extremely experienced colleague who had received national recognition for the programmes of work she had been involved with. Upon completing the contract I returned to West Midlands Ambulance Service and undertook various roles involving service and performance improvement. My current role as Performance & Improvement Lead (Emergency Care) is diverse, challenging but extremely rewarding as I get to work with some fantastic people. When I'm not doing the day job I love spending time with my long suffering husband Jon and manic spaniels /thankfully not so manic horses, caravanning, Lake District fell walking along with a good amount of giggles with my dear friends
