Some pledges are just magic, they grab your attention and carry us forward with such a sense of shared purpose. All of your pledges have a strong sense of “why”, they inspire us, they call us to action. And thats the next phase for Fab Change Week - sharing your actions, learning, journeys and outcomes.
Now don't panic, you don't have to have completed your pledge to share what you are doing… and its not complicated to share - phew!!
We have added a short and easy to use form on the website to capture this energy and your pledge journey with three simple questions.
WHY… did you make this pledge?
HOW… did you make it happen?
WHAT… did you achieve?
Sharing “why” you have made a pledge (your inspiration, your purpose, values and beliefs) connects with people at a deep level, it inspires others to join you and leads to commitment. Your “why” is your point of human connection. Your “why” unites us and is where the passion lies.
Knowing your “why" and being able to clearly articulate it may help you to actually achieve your pledge as you may be less likely to give up after a few failures. We know that the journey to achieving a pledge can be full of life’s ups and downs and often doesn't go as planned. Don't feel bad or disheartened about this! Acknowledge your thoughts and feelings and of those of others around you; consider the lessons that you have learned so far and ask what further resources may I need? What help do I need? How can I respond to feedback and make it better? What is my next step?
Remember after that lightbulb moment making your pledge what Thomas Edison once said, “I have not failed 1000 times. I have successfully discovered 1000 ways to NOT make a lightbulb”. So telling us what didn't work quite as well as you hoped is really valuable learning which others can learn from too.
Your “why” never changes (even if the how and the what does)!
How did you make is happen?
What specific actions did you take? What has happened so far? What do you hope to achieve? What have been your outcomes?
So please share with us your “why”, “how” and what”, share your Fab Change Week journey and please do this whether you are still early on this path having made a few tentative steps or if you have accomplished what you set out to do and so share your outcomes.
Everybody’s story matters. Stories matter. Journeys matter. Sharing your Fab Change Week journey may also help to inspire and build up those who are yet to start theirs.
Know your “why”… find out “how” and then celebrate and share your “what”.
