Varied Timetables for Patients in Long Term Segregation

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Anna Hunter - Occupational Therapist, TSD Women's Service, Arnold Lodge

What I changed:

Having varied timetables for patients in Long Term Segregation

How this benefited service users and / or carers:

Their needs were met and they had the opportunity to see a range of nursing and TSD staff to engage in meaningful occupation. Builds therapeutic relationships, enhances trust and provides structure and routine. Also encourages physical activity.

Why I am proud of it:

Patients interact more with a range of staff and do things they enjoy as well as build skills whilst in restrictive environments. Working on physical fitness. One Tamar Ward patient lost one stone in weight.
