This category recognises the ingenuity of people who have applied existing digital technologies to health and care to improve people’s experience and outcomes.

TryLife – is at the forefront of an emerging communications format known as transmedia. Imagine a typical teen TV drama. Instead, with TryLife, at key moments the action pauses and you make a decision. Your choice changes the course of the storyline and has an immediate impact on what happens next.  TryLife is the old choice based adventure books brought to high-tech life. TryLife is hard hitting, it’s not about preaching what is right or wrong. It allows young people to experiment in a safe environment, make life choices on behalf of filmed characters and watch the consequences of their actions.

Young people are no longer passive viewers who we can bombard advice and information, hoping it will get through. They are masters of multi-tasking, they engage, create and interact online. They can fast forward television shows, rewind, record, skip adverts and have 1000’s of channels to choose from. We are guests in their space and need to adjust our method of engagement. They are used to high production quality, they want to share and join in.

TryLife is the first of eight websites aimed at young people under the Try brand. It is an interactive, online drama designed by some of the best in UK talent from the Youth, Education, Health, Media and Creative industries. We interact directly with young people via social media and mobile phone technology… bridging the gap between the pc / mobile phone device and the service providers. TryLife is the old choice based adventure books brought back to life for teenagers online today.

In episode one there are 20+ endings with some random occurrences thrown in. Episode 2 has 60 possible routes and further expands upon the choice based format of the pilot episode. Episode 3 is due for release soon and will see the birth of our eLearning section ‘TryLearning’.

The aim of this project is to create an all encompassing drive to change the way in which young people think and act on issues which affect their lives.TryLife is building a comprehensive database of services and organisations who provide support and advice for young people throughout the UK.At the end of each storyline young people can access information on the issues the character encountered and be directed to services local to them. A major drive is now taking place to sign up services to this database.

TryLife is created by young people for young people. We have created an in game radio station called TryRadio, young people can send in their music to be played on and gain exposure from this platform. Community radio stations and projects using music to engage with young people can also make broadcasts and utilise TryRadio.TryLife has created an education pack which sits perfectly within the PHSE national curriculum.

Our writing team, actors and music producers deliver highly engaging workshops for schools, youth centres, charities and even work with them to develop future storylines. The TryLife method of storytelling means that any issue young people face can be covered and explored. Young people can learn by their mistakes without having to make them in the real world. Pick a character, guide them through life and make the decisions. You live with the consequences. You Try Life.

To the young person this project is an online drama series that they can control… to us this is a perfect opportunity to engage directly with young people, challenge them, test their stance on issues and educate them using invisible learning. We have 249,000 fans on facebook and have reached 44,000,000 in the past 7 days alone.
