Trauma Informed Care (Option 2)

This PowerPoint is a 2 hour presentation examining the long term impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences on both health and behaviour. T

he aim is to 'show not tell' the audience how the brain, of a person with past trauma, reacts to perceived threat, through the use of creative writing.

It is believed that through describing the feelings created, the audience will have a greater understanding and empathy to respond to a patient's needs. Simple steps that can be taken to support such patients are also examined.

Please note this presentation is the same as 'Trauma Informed Care (Option 1)' apart from the task at the start of the presentation which asks the audience to think/ talk about films, instead of listening to an emotive description.

This option should be used if the presentation 'A Journey into Mental Illness' has, or plans to be used.
