2016-11-08_5821d2a4b1136_stair1As Part of the Norfolk and Norwich Workplace Health and Well Being Programme we are encouraging our staff, patients and visitors to take the stairs when possible rather than the lift.

We have put up posters on every stairwell and every lift with messages including comparisons to other activities and how many more calories can be burnt by using the stairs.

We also emphasised the important of exercise on heart health, as only 7 minutes of climbing stairs a day can halve the chance of a heart attack in the next 10 years.

This campaign will be active in November 2016 and we plan to repeat it every 3-4 Months going forward to avoid 'sign and message-blindness'.

This is part of a number of efforts we are promoting to build exercise into our staff members working day.
