ST-segment elevation on a 12-lead ECG is usually a clinically significant finding.
There are a number of possible underlying causes, some of which are life-threatening, others more benign.
It is important to consider clinical context when interpreting ST-segment elevation; often this needs to be done quickly, to allow safe treatment to be administered as required, or to avoid unnecessary interventions from being carried out inappropriately, leading to harm.

I created this mnemonic as part of a presentation to educate clinicians and to support interpretation of ST-segment elevation by raising awareness of the less commonly considered causes.
