This week we celebrate the 70th Birthday of the National Health Service – and to mark this momentous occasion Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) and North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust (NCUH), have created a very special edition of their Trust Talk magazine.

This birthday edition is full of stories from staff, past and present, on how the NHS has changed over the years. It also reflects on some of the key moments in the history of the NHS, and looks to the future with the latest news about the health and care systems in Cumbria.

The magazine also focuses on how people can help to look after the NHS by choosing to use NHS services wisely and how people can give something back to the NHS by becoming a blood or organ donor as well as looking after themselves by staying fit and healthy.

Stephen Eames, Chief Executive of CPFT and NCUH, said: “The NHS’s anniversary is a celebration of each and every one of our staff who have all played a part in making the NHS what it is today. I’d like to say a huge thank you to all our staff, the organisations we work closely with and the people of Cumbria; by working together we have an incredibly positive future.”
