Along with the usual resources, information and promotional items we arranged for the Inflatable Organ Company to attend with their giant, inflatable walk-through bowel.
The walk- through bowel is a great educational tool that is used for demonstration purposes. At the beginning of the day people seemed a little hesitant towards coming over for information or to go through the bowel, although as the day went on more and more community members warmed up to the idea and visited our stall.
The weather was glorious and the venue was great.
There was well over 1, 000 people attending the event and 80 went through the bowel to learn more about this exceptional body organ.
The day helped us to realise that we need to ensure that we engage more with the Polish community in Slough so that they are more aware of the importance of bowel cancer screening.
We would like to say a big thank you to the Polish community for inviting us.
