Diverse Learners provide dyslexia and dyspraxia support and training for the healthcare sector and healthcare education. 

We enable individuals and organisations to develop personalised strategies for more effective and efficient solutions. As healthcare practitioners trained in disability we are a unique team with expertise in understanding the demands and needs of healthcare settings and the considerable academic and professional challenges they represent.

The team has personal experience of Specific Learning Differences/Difficulties (SpLD), are neurodiverse, ensuring an empathetic approach.

Background Founded by Kerry Pace in 2012, in response to research she had undertaken into dyslexia screening at entry, the benefits of embedding study skills in introductory modules on undergraduate healthcare courses, and the benefits to healthcare students on placement of accessing study skills support via Skype outside of ‘office hours/location’.

Flexible and accessible support, underpinned by experience of healthcare education and practice, increase engagement by fitting in with shifts and the diversity of needs so Diverse Learners provides support 9am-10pm, 7 days a week, all year round.

 Partnership working Working in partnership with students, healthcare practitioners, Trusts and universities we provide study skills support, specialist mentoring, awareness training and assistive technology training, which is not only of the highest standard, but also delivered in a way that increases access and engagement through being flexible and responsive to diverse needs. Our team provides training to organisations to enable them raise awareness of disability – in particular dyslexia and dyspraxia, support their staff as well as colleagues to adopt more inclusive practice. Training can be delivered 1:1, small groups, large groups, as part of a CPD package and staff development days as well as being tailored to the needs of a specific team such as mentors.
