Following on from the success of the RLB Nurse programme we delivered a programme for Allied Health Professionals, RLB AHP's, and have now launched the RLB Volunteer programme.
The RLB Nurse Programme is an education initiative that aims to further develop registered nurses who are committed to delivering the highest quality of care for the health and wellbeing of patients. .
The RLB Volunteer programme includes a competency-based portfolio which will help support our volunteers to achieve a core set of competencies including safe-guarding, patient safety, care & concern; Volunteers can choose from 6 roles, Dementia buddy, Discharge buddy, Befrienders etc. The first cohort will commence November 2016 and will run for 9 months. It is an exciting time here at the Royal Liverpool & Broadgreen Hospitals University Trust as we will move to a new hospital in 2018.
We value the importance of our volunteers and have factored them into our new build plan in order to support new models of care. We value the role of our volunteers and want to integrate them into the Trust, the RLB Volunteer programme will encourage this.
