2017-04-21_58f9e57516757_IMG_8532North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust has placed a quality of care board on each of its wards.

The boards are part of the Trust’s commitment to be open and transparent by allowing patients to see key information when they enter a ward such as: staffing levels on that day, hygiene scores, cleaning scores, training rates, and waiting times (for outpatient areas).

They also contain information on who is in charge of the ward on that day, so patients know who to contact if they have any questions about their treatment.

The boards have been well received by the ward staff and are updated daily.

They act as a reminder to complete their mandatory training and hand hygiene so they are putting safety at the centre of everything they do.

They also remind patients that we want to hear from them. Any feedback is welcome and it is vital patients come forward and share their experiences so we can constantly improve and innovate to increase patient care and experience.
