Pulling together for patient dignity

Pulling together for patient dignity featured image
Problem

The position of curtains in the QMC Phlebotomy Outpatients department meant they couldn’t be pulled round to create boundaries for patients having blood taken.

Impact

Not being protected from view might make some patients anxious.

Idea

Relocate and replace existing curtain rails and curtains around all bays in the Phlebotomy Outpatient department at QMC.

Benefits

The relocation and provision of adequately sized curtains provides a boundary for each bay, ensuring patients have privacy and dignity and feel more comfortable with their experience in the department.
