Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is proud to be supporting Preston Pride this month.
Preston Pride is being held on Saturday 29th September 2018 at the Preston Flag Market. The day aims to bring together the local community to celebrate and support inclusion and equality. Lancashire Teaching Hospitals will have a presence at the event.
The Pride flag has been raised at both Preston and Chorley Hospitals, and will continue to fly across both sites in support of the day. The Pride flag is a symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) pride. The rainbow colours reflect the diversity of the LGBT community, as the flag is often used as a symbol of gay pride during LGBT rights marches and Pride parades.
Mandy Davis, Blended Learning Manager and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead (Workforce) at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, said: “We value and celebrate diversity, and so are committed to creating an inclusive working environment, and developing and delivering services that respond to people’s individual needs. Taking part in Preston Pride symbolises this commitment.”
“We held our first Valuing Diversity conference earlier this year which included talks about the importance of recognising and celebrating diversity, as well as a looking at how we are doing as an organisation and where we need to improve. We are proud to be actively participating in this weekend’s celebrations and in ensuring our hospitals continue to celebrate diversity and champion inclusion.”
