Each year, we provide 200 apprenticeships across the organisation, in an array of departments. Many of these positions are not traditionally associated with a hospital environment such as catering and hospitality or accountancy, as well as the more conventional roles such as health care support.
In such a large and complex organisation, there are always opportunities available to learn and develop, and our apprenticeship programme continues to grow each and every year.
All of our apprentices work towards nationally recognised qualifications ranging from level two (equivalent to GCSE) to level six (degree).
We retain approximately 90% of our apprentices at the end of their training and many have progressed to more senior roles with us, which is a great achievement.
England’s Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers list is compiled annually by the National Apprenticeship Service, and recognises excellence in businesses that employ apprentices.
