Post Covid Syndrome Assessment Service: Setting Up a New Service
In February 2021, the General Manager for Specialist Medicine asked for QI support on setting up a new service for patients with post covid syndrome (PCS).
The project was stalling and NHSE had concerns that Cornwall was late in going live with the service and that the proposals did not match NHSE guidance.
Post covid syndrome can affect anyone who has had covid (not just those hospitalised) so it was recognised that there was a likely unmet demand in Cornwall for such a service.
