Patient Welcome Packs

We recently relaunched our inpatient welcome pack at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust in North London.

One of the Always Events of our Patient Experience Strategy is to improve the information provided to our patients and their families. In addition to relaunching our Patient Information Group and working with patient volunteers to use our outpatient appointment letters in a wayfinding audit with Enfield Healthwatch, we have revamped our welcome pack.

The feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive we have even had our outpatient and accident emergency colleagues thinking about how we can work together to adapt the pack for use in their departments.

The pack has a welcome booklet, a dental pack, paper and pen to note important information or questions as well as an ear pad and eye mask.

We are actively listening to feedback from patients and will be making changes as needed to include other items that may include headphones and the like.

We were proud to have been featured in the summer newsletter of our provider, Personal Care Packs and look forward to getting better with each version based on patient feedback.
