Patient Online case study: the benefits of online test results

Patient Online case study: the benefits of online test results featured image

“Online test results have made me understand my disease”

Graeme has rheumatoid arthritis and needs regular blood tests and a broad range of medication to manage his condition.

His surgery offers online record access and he can now monitor and review his progress wherever he is.

He finds this particularly helpful when visiting his specialist, as they do not have access to his medical history.

“Online test results –current and past – are the most important tool in my self-management,” he says in this video.

To sign up for GP online services, please visit your surgery’s website or talk to your GP receptionist.

“Fewer calls from patients to find out test results”

For more information about the benefits of online test results for practices, have a look at this case study: https://www.england.nhs.uk/storage/po-cs-benefits-online-test-results.pdf

The Swan Practice in Buckingham carries out around 50 blood tests a day and encourages patients to sign up for online services so they can view their results without having to call or visit the practice. The number of test result-related calls has since dropped significantly. More? Contact [email protected]
