The challenge was given on how do you know your patients really know who is caring for them?
The idea was to place a photo on every bed side with a picture and the name of the nurse who was looking after them at the patients bed side.
This is a laminated picture that is changed depending on the shift, it is very difficult to take a photo of the agency worker but to over come this we laminated the same format identifying the name of the transient worker.
The initial feedback is that the patients love it but the relatives know who they need to speak too, and so communication between staff and relatives and patient have improved.
