Occupational Therapy pathways

2016-08-30_57c5538a6bc59_pathwaysOccupational Therapists (OT) in Lincolnshire have been working hard on a number of electronic evidence based pathways.

The pathways are an easy reference guide to expected practice and links to information and tools required for working with patients on this aspect of their care.

This ensures that OTs are using evidence based practice and consistent tools across mental health services in Lincolnshire and is a really useful guide for new staff and students.

It releases time to care fro OTs as it reduces time searching for relevant documents and reports.

We can also use the pathways in supervision as an audit tool to benchmark our OT's practice.

One example is the driving pathway and this has a guide in what assessments to use to assess someone where there may be concerns with regards to their driving abilities due to their cognitive impairment. It also has links to patient information from the DVLA such as notifying them, appealing decisions and links to the driving assessment centre. A real Fab initiative!
