I pledged to deliver training in service evaluation to colleagues at NHS South Norfolk and NHS North Norfolk CCG. Along with my team member, Clara, I had previously received training in the ‘Evidence Works’ toolkit (www.nhsevidencetoolkit.net) from Jo Bangoura and Abby Sabey from the West of England AHSN and CLAHRC West.

To successfully deliver our learning to our CCG colleagues we modified the training slides and arranged a two hour training session.

We delivered the training on 15th November 2017 to 11 attendees, focusing on the ‘what, why and how’ of service evaluation.

Initial feedback has been largely positive, with calls for the length of the sessions to increase to allow more time to focus on the activities around 'setting aims and objectives' and 'data collection'.

The training will support our colleagues to make a positive change by helping them to plan and carry out robust evaluations of the services they commission.

I am already planning more training sessions with our primary care and integrated care teams to embed and sustain this change.
