NNUH invests in leadership

Like most acute trusts, the Norfolk and Norwich university hospital has been under unprecedented pressure over the last year.

However, unlike most trusts, it has taken a novel approach to really improve its home grown leaders.

24 staff members have been selected to undertake a year long course, focusing on quality improvement, safety and leadership.

This has involved off site workshops, visits to other NHS trusts, visits to high reliability organisations, and a course with the institute of healthcare improvement.

Staff on the course are already feeling the benefit, and feeding this back into the daily workings of the hospital to improve care, efficiency and morale.
