2016-08-17_57b4491dee024_sddefaultOver the last year Healthy London Partnerships (HLP) Children and Young People's programme has engaged with young people to find out what they need from the health service.

Young people told us that they didn't how, where or when to access services and health information and didn't know what their health rights were.

Together with a steering group made up of young people across London we created the NHSGo app.

Young people helped us design everything from the look of the app to what content was put into it. They even came up with the name!!

Young people said that the NHS was a trustworthy recognisable brand; an NHS app would provide them with a place where they could find health information and services whilst out and about.

All the information is pulled from NHS Choices, which means that information Young People receive is evidence based and validated.

We simply put the information that was already available into a format and medium that reaches out to young people.

2016-08-17_57b4491dede6a_Picture2The app is aimed at 16-24 year olds in London, although the app can work anywhere!

We used Twitter and YouTube to promote the video and used YouTube vloggers to speak about their previous or current health problems and why they like the new app.

The app launched on the 14th July and so far 4000 people have downloaded it and 300,000 have watched our YouTube video.

Each month there will be a featured health issue which is important to young people.

If you like the sound of it, you can search iTunes or GooglePlay for the app or go to our website www.nhsgo.uk. You can follow us on twitter at #NHSGo or like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/NHSGo.
