NHS@70 Parliamentary Awards

2018 will see the National Health Service celebrate its 70th anniversary and there is little argument about what has been achieved in that time; the NHS has, and is, keeping us and our kin healthy longer than could have been envisaged when originally founded.

Life expectancy in the UK is now over 80 years on average and battles against once incurable diseases have changed beyond the most optimistic forecast.

Despite the strain on the system, there’s barely anyone who doesn’t have a heart-rending story about how doctors and nurses have provided outstanding levels of care, helping us all live longer, healthier lives.

There will be much celebration of the NHS this year and a key part of this activity, the NHS@70 Parliamentary Awards, has been established to highlight innovative and high-quality care across every constituency in England. This is the opportunity to thank staff for their dedication, hard work and commitment by recognising and honouring their achievements.

The awards will be announced in July, but the kick-off begins on February 8th, when MPs will be encouraged to nominate deserving causes.

You can help by asking your MP to make a nomination if you feel your hospital/nurses/doctors/care system deserves recognition, in the different categories below.

We look forward to recognising our health heroes during this landmark year.

IBM is incredibly proud to sponsor the NHS@70 parliamentary awards.
