In these times of reduced funding we felt a cheap freely available educational resource was needed for the whole team to improve their knowledge on looking after these frail patients .
We developed and run the MDTea Podcast as a result of this.
This is and will remain free to download to all users.
Each episode is a professionally produced radio show around 30 minutes long and covers a single topic from the perspective of the wider multi-professional team.
The faculty are based in Kent, Surrey and Sussex and the project is funded by Health Education England (KSS).
All the episodes are available on a website (www.thehearingaidpodcasts.org.uk) but also via the majority of popular podcast apps (including itunes etc).
An episode is released every 2 weeks and comes with an infographic which can be printed off / laminated and used as a prompt to staff. All episodes also have fully referenced (and curriculum mapped) show notes.
In addition we now also have added a reflective log on the website for episodes where users can reflect on their learning and will be emailed a certificate for use in CPD logs and as evidence for revalidation etc.
