#JustDoIt - The Book Nook

Problem

When a new breakfast room was created on B26, the old space became an unused storage area.

Impact

The space was wasted and patients had nowhere they could be social together and have time away from their beds, particularly if they had visitors.

Idea

To use the space to create a ‘book corner’. Staff donate their unwanted books and encourage patients to donate 50p to NUH Charity in exchange for a book.

Benefits

Patients will have a space where they can sit together with each other and their visitors. Children’s books and toys keep patients’ families entertained when visiting.

Name and Job Title    Karen Johns, B26 Council.
