Innovative CPD in a times of financial constraint

This is a idea, a concept that is open for wider discussion. 

We know that CPD funding has constraints. 

This does not help those staff who have to revalidate, Nurses, Midwives and AHPs. 

My proposal is to embed within the organisation mechanisms whereby we can share learning. 

This can be achieved in a number of ways. The first way, is technological. On the intranet page, a searchable button would allow staff to seek  out colleagues who could run sessions on, for example mentoring or coaching or resilience or any subject really. 

We would do this because then learning is kept in house, no demand for travel expenses or to bring in a outside speaker, all of these things combined can be expensive. 

The great thing about this is that you are selling your knowledgeable staff, helping and supporting each other. 

The second way is to have a database of staff skills where we can tap into a knowledgeable network, supporting one another in our CPD needs.
