Our finance team is the first hospital service, and one of just two NHS organisations in the UK to receive level 3 accreditation from Future Focused Finance.
This accreditation reflects the high standard of professional service and expertise provided by our finance team.
The Future-Focused Finance (FFF) Accreditation, issued by the National Finance Leadership Council, gives recognition to NHS organisations that have the very best finance practices in place. Level three is the highest achievement, recognising the highest standards of financial competence and commitments to the skills development of the finance team.
Lucy Billington, Assistant Finance Director at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals said: “We are all really pleased and proud to be the first hospital service in the country to have achieved this level of accreditation. It’s an accolade to the whole finance team and hospital who continually work in partnership to deliver the highest quality care to our patients.”
Michael Welsh, Non-Executive Director at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals said: "Accurate, detailed and timely financial reporting is essential to the effectiveness of the organisation in caring for patients and assuring governors, board and regulators that we are achieving high standards of transparency and financial governance. This unprecedented award is testimony to the hard work and exceptional professional standards displayed by accountancy managers and staff - they are the "A" team and we are very proud of them."
