The Falls Prevention Fuel Tank video is an educational resource for raising awareness of risk factors for falls and things that can be done to reduce them.
It emphasises prevention and early intervention by using the analogy of a car fuel tank, focusing on the importance of 'topping your tank up regularly' to prevent risk factors for falls ever arising, rather than reacting to them once a fall has occurred.
It was developed by Cardiff and Vale UHB with funding from Public Health Wales and the Cardiff and Vale Health Charity, and support from 1000 Lives Wales and the Prudent Healthcare National Taskforce for Falls Prevention in Wales.
Service users were involved in the production of the video to provide feedback and input, as well as input from the multidisciplinary team and partner organisations. The video is available in both English and Welsh language formats, as well as subtitled versions of each language.
