Pledge Title:
On the Air to Care

Fab change 2022-2023 has inspired a new national initiative by the UK National Health Service. In partnership with #HamHubUK.

The pledge involves using radio communications to raise awareness of public health campaigns that save lives and to reduce loneliness & isolation through, the fellowship experienced between radio operators.

It targets communities across the UK as well as oversees.

Our first national event took place on Monday 8th August. East Essex Hackspace, Hawkwell PavilionPark Gardens. @EEHackSpace

Andrew Brown, callsign M0ONH, from Chelmsford in Essex, scheduled a month long on air event in support of Prostate Cancer UK.

The event was supposed by a regional group of radio enthusiasts called Essex Ham.

Also joining forces with Paul to deliver the Commonwealth Games radio communications station GB1HMG. On behalf of HM Government departments in Birmingham. Pete and Kelly are also central to delivering our Fab radio pledge for Fab Challenge 2022 - 2023.

Andrew kindly invited me to attend the launch event for his first evening on air. In my capacity of founder of GB1NHS He operated a special event callsign G8PCA (prostate cancer awareness).
Andrews event went to well that I thought we would join forces abs shine a light on his brilliant work.

People were on air, asking questions about prostate cancer, and taking openly about their personal experiences and gratitude for the NHS.

Paul would like to thank Pete Sipple (M0PSX) and Kelly Atkins (M6KFA) for all their support. They have both been instrumental in helping Paul to deliver the NHS Radio Communications Service GB1NHS.
