PHE and our partners were proud winners of the a penguin award last year - the coveted penguin, often fought over, still has pride of place within the nursing Directorate at Wellington house!
Terri and I talked about the amazing examples of good practice and how important sharing is, not only from a learning perspective but also offering busy health care professionals an opportunity to take time to reflect on their great achievements.
It was incredible to meet Twitter buddies at 'we get together' the 'CYP families' - including wehealthvisitors and weschoolnurses soon migrated towards each other, swapping ideas, thoughts and innovation - the common purpose being improving life chances and outcomes for children, young people and families.
We talk a lot about the user voice and as health professionals working with children and young people we readily embrace every opportunity. Children and young people are active users of NHS services, their interactions with services are far reaching from primary care and community health, school nursing, and secondary care.Looking through the Academy of FabNHSStuff, it's so heartening to see many examples of NHS services not only meeting the needs of children and young people, but active engagement and co-production with young service users to ensure services meet their needs.
And then I had a light bulb moment....
Wouldn't it be good to shine a light on all the fab work happening with children and young people?
