The Vocational Rehabilitation Service is occupational therapy-led and forms part of the core community services provided by Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT). The multidisciplinary service is designed to meet the

employment needs of people with complex mental health problems and recovery is the fundamental principle underpinning the care. The service offers individuals support in their personal recovery journey to achieve their employment goals with hope, optimism and confidence.

From April 2017 - March 2018, 211 people transitioned from unemployment to paid work, returned to work from sickness absence or remained well at work. In in the first 5 months of 2018, 105 people have successfully returned to work.

The service was one of the four services featured in the Royal College of Occupational Therapists - Getting My Life Back - Improving Lives, Saving money paper published on 16 May 2018.

Consequently, team members, along with ex-service users, were invited to the Houses of Parliament to share their work with MPs. Since then, the service has been featured in the British Safety Council, Safety Management magazine.

The team are #KMPTproud of their work and how they transform the lives of people with mental health problems.
