The Estates and Facilities Engagement Champions at United Lincolnshire Hospitals came up with the idea from a recent Champions group of buying personal water bottles due to issues around hydration of the staff. Due to the demands of the roles conducted by our Estates and Facilities staff, they don’t always get time to have a drink!
The champions approached IPC and also the Improving Working Lives Committee to seek funding for the project and everything approved and we were ready to go! Then one of our FAB Ambassadors shared a link from West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust https://fabnhsstuff.net/fab-st...
We were able to contact them and they shared details of the supplier which saved time!
Our bottles were designed with the support of the Infection Prevention and Occupational Health Teams. The water bottles can be kept close by their working areas from them to take regular drinks. The water bottle concept has now grown and it was agreed that in fact all Trust staff would benefit from having one.
We have recently taken delivery of over 7,000 water bottles and are currently being given out.
Just shows that from a small team idea, it’s become something that every member of staff can benefit from! #UltimateULHT
