Changes in Practice Risk AssessmentÂ
Wards have started testing and trialing risk assessments from East Lancashire and have seen changes in the clinical requirement of special on the ward.
Paediatric ward have developed their own risk assessment tool and are currently trialing it on the paediatric wards at RLH site and staff are finding it to be user friendly and effective.
Neurosurgery is testing and trialing risk assessment but also exploring more on this in conjunction with other neuro departments within London.
More Effective use and deployment of workforce
Wards are actively planning their workforce and deploying it to meet the varying special needs.
Use of behaviour charts and other risk assessment tools are being introduced
Increased MDT involvement and engagement in the care planning.
Working closer with families, carers and volunteers team to improve the patient experience
Wards are currently introducing flexible visiting timings for families and carers to get involved in the care.
Meaningful engagement with Volunteers by introducing various activities.
Developing activity boxes for dementia buddies and volunteers to engage with patients on the ward
Amended the process of booking additional shifts.
Introduced new set of codes on health roster for booking specials - found to be user friendly and relevant clinically.
