Electronic solution to achieve risky behaviour CQUIN

A collaboration between nursing, specialist teams, performance analysts and ICT has supported the development of electronic risk assessments for smoking and alcohol assessments.

The assessment meets the CQUIN requirements in terms of assessing risk, providing brief advice and supports easy referral to specialist services if required.

We have designed the assessments so they can be completed on the hand held devices used across the organisation and removed duplication of work wherever possible.

These electronic risk assessments are mandatory for all eligible patients and as they feed into our live Nervecentre database this enables us to have live performance data, demographical analysis and the ability to provide trend information to support our broader prevention strategy workstream as we try to prevent avoidable differences in health across our population.

Feedback from staff has been incredibly positive and further electronic nursing risk assessments will launch in August.
