In early 2016, the NHS England Patient Experience team commissioned Patient Voices to design and run workshops for staff to create and tell their own digital stories about their experiences of working in the NHS. The intention is for these stories to be shared widely and to help others understand, learn from and respond to these experiences, both positive and challenging.
We are delighted to share with you, fresh insights into the thoughts, feelings and experiences of staff across the healthcare system. The driving philosophy for this work is the widely evidenced interconnectedness between the experiences, engagement and well-being of staff and outcomes and experiences for patients, their families and carers. It is underpinned by the belief that sharing stories helps contribute to healthcare that is more humane, more dignified and more compassionate for all.
We will be holding a conference to launch the stories on Wednesday 2 November 2016, 10am – 4pm at ICA, 12 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5AH.
We will celebrate and share digital stories made by NHS staff about the reality of their work. Many of the storytellers will be joining us on the day to present the digital stories that they have made and we hope that you will join us too.
The event is free, but you will need to register here: www.events.england.nhs.uk/nhsengland/159/home
