My pledge was to introduce the This Is Me tool onto the ward I am working on and beginning our journey into delivering person centred meaningful activities.To date as we prepare to enter Fab Change Week I have seen the introduction of Activity Days onto the staff rota which has supported us in increasing the level of person centred activities on the ward and created conversations within the staff team about what meaningful activity is already provided and identifying resources that are available to provide these.
I have also developed the This Is Me tool to meet the needs of our environment and shared this with my direct team which has received very positive feedback and I will be taking the tool to a Trust away day on Thursday 16th November to look at the introduction on both male and female wards of the service I am based within.
This event will also allow time for us to consider how we can shape the future of activities that are provided by us as a service.
