To achieve this myself and my team have changed processes within the laboratory to ensure that >95% of samples for our ED department are turned around in <60 mins from receipt in the laboratory.
I have also together with training team written a training program that has been delivered to all Junior doctors about Acute Kidney Injury.
My team and I have also introduced electronic AKI alerts with advice on further testing, escalation and referral which together with the training have led to the percentage of people with AKI on our wards who deteriorated halving and the percentage of those who get better approximately quadrupling.
