Hayley Deans, Continence Nurse Adviser - Continence Services
What I changed:
There has been a change around of staff for the Continence Service and in order to make the Prescription Service more effective for the new prescribers and to educate the new staff a ‘Cupboard of Knowledge’ has been developed. This has ease of access to examples of catheter stock prescribed, leaflets about products, files with pathways and guidelines. This information has been labelled and divided into section. It is everyone’s responsibility to update and stock and keep tidy.
How this benefited service users and / or staff:
Enables access to vital information for patients more effectively and efficiently
This cupboard has enabled the service to understand educational gaps for staff and help resolve these through in-house projects, research and independent product representatives.
With this ease of access patients and staff can be advised and supported effectively and efficiently with appropriate and relevant information.
Why i'm proud of it:
Highlighted a gap in the teams educational needs which is now being addressed
